It's about time that the weather finally becomes better! Being stuck in the house for a week straight, not being able to go out and take pictures, and having nothing to do but play on my computer was a pain!
Last night, even though it was very stormy, was a good night. I was the photographer for a Father/Daughter dance that happened at the school I work at, and it was a great turn out....A little too good. After only 70 people RSVP'd, more than 200 peoples showed up and the cafeteria was crowded beyond belief. On top of that, as soon as the announcement was made about the photos, a line formed out the door of people waiting to sign up for their photo to be taken with their beautiful daughters in their amazingly cute dresses. So I was on my feet, in heels, bending over my tripod for an hour and a half taking picture after picture. And multiple times during the night, when people were still trying to get their photos taken, the lights were turned off for certain games that they were playing. So I had to wait until the game was over before I could take their picture, which was a pain.
But the photos turned out awesome and all the girls had a wonderful time with their dads. It was a great turn out.
In other news, the weather was perfect today, and me and the family went out to do some yard work. While my parents went to get the mulch, I went out and weeded the yard and trimmed the bushes back and squared them off. I honestly can say that I missed doing yard work. Now that the yard is half done, it looks amazing! I can't wait to go out and finish it.
A couple of weeks ago, the school I'm at had a ponytail trade event for the Cancer Cause. I was the happy photographer and when a reported from a local newspaper came, he asked me to send in some pictures of the kids he had interviewed. And now, I will be a published photographer in the local paper on Feb. 16th. Super excited! I've also been getting a few different photographer jobs since I'm getting my name out there. I can't wait until things really kick off for me.
